Stain protection for concreteLithurin PROTEC

Liquid-repellent final protection where oil, stains and wet dirt are part of everyday work.

An impregnating agent that makes the concrete surface liquid-repellent. It is applied as the final step after the base treatment, normally together with SEAL 3.0, for better stain protection and easier cleaning.

What it does

  • The surface repels liquids
  • Better protection against oil and other stains
  • Easier cleaning of service and traffic areas
  • For indoor and outdoor surfaces

When we use it

  • Garages, vehicle workshops and parking areas
  • Production areas with oils and liquids
  • Ground and polished concrete
  • Loading docks and outdoor service areas

Limitations

Stain protection is not chemical resistance. Spills still need to be cleaned up promptly, and suitability depends on the type of liquid and the exposure time.

Used in these sequences

  • Industrial power-floated floors

HARD hardens the surface layer for traffic, then SEAL 3.0 seals it for easier cleaning. PROTEC is added where spills and stains are part of everyday operations.

    1. Step 1 HARD Hardening
    2. Step 2 SEAL 3.0 Sealing and densifying
    3. if needed PROTEC where oil and stains occur
  • Dustproofing self-levelling compounds

DENS densifies the porous surface of the levelling compound and reduces dusting. PROTEC is an add-on where stain protection matters.

    1. Step 1 DENS Densifying
    2. if needed PROTEC for stain protection
  • Ground and polished concrete

HARD creates a harder substrate for grinding, SEAL 3.0 closes the pores before polishing, and PROTEC adds stain protection. The final look also depends on the quality of the slab and the grinding process.

  • Outdoor surfaces with a coarser texture

On coarser surfaces, SEAL 3.0 adds sealing after hardening. PROTEC is an add-on where exposure to stains justifies it.

  • Garages, workshops and car parks

Hardening and sealing for vehicle traffic, with PROTEC as a liquid-repellent step against oil stains and for easier cleaning.

Frequently asked questions

Does PROTEC make concrete waterproof?

No. More precisely, the surface becomes liquid-repellent and better protected against stains. That does not make the concrete waterproof.

Can PROTEC be used on its own?

The manufacturer intends it as the final step of the system, normally after SEAL 3.0.

Show us your floor. We will recommend the right sequence.

On a site visit we check the condition of the concrete, the traffic, how the floor is cleaned and what it is exposed to. Then we propose the surface preparation, the product sequence and a schedule that fits around your operations.
