Hardening and dustproofing concreteLithurin HARD
Hardens the concrete surface layer in depth and binds dust.
A water-based fluorosilicate impregnating agent that penetrates the surface layer of the concrete and reacts there with free lime. The surface layer becomes harder and denser and the concrete dusts less. No film forms on the surface, so there is nothing to flake or peel.
What it does
- Hardens the concrete surface layer
- Reduces dusting under forklift traffic
- Improves abrasion resistance
- Forms no film and keeps the natural look of concrete
When we use it
- First step on power-floated industrial floors
- Before diamond grinding, for a harder substrate
- Outdoor surfaces: two applications
- New floors and properly prepared existing floors
Surface layer hardened with Lithurin HARD.
Source: contractor's figure based on completed projects. The value applies to the hardened surface layer and depends on the quality of the concrete and the preparation.
Illustration, not a measurement.
Based on independent tests (Aston Services, United Kingdom), the manufacturer AB Lindec states approximately 10–20 times higher abrasion resistance than untreated concrete.
Used in these sequences
Industrial power-floated floors
HARD hardens the surface layer for traffic, then SEAL 3.0 seals it for easier cleaning. PROTEC is added where spills and stains are part of everyday operations.
- Step 1 HARD Hardening
- Step 2 SEAL 3.0 Sealing and densifying
- if needed PROTEC where oil and stains occur
Wet areas and regular wet cleaning
For wet environments, SEAL 3.0 is the right sealer. SEAL is intended for dry indoor areas only. The choice between DENS and SEAL 3.0 depends on the condition of the concrete and how the floor is cleaned.
- Step 1 HARD Hardening
- Step 2 DENS Densifying
- Step 1 HARD Hardening
- Step 2 SEAL 3.0 Sealing and densifying
Ground and polished concrete
HARD creates a harder substrate for grinding, SEAL 3.0 closes the pores before polishing, and PROTEC adds stain protection. The final look also depends on the quality of the slab and the grinding process.
- Step 1 HARD before grinding
- Step 2 SEAL 3.0 before polishing
- if needed PROTEC final protection
Outdoor surfaces with a finer texture
Two applications of HARD harden outdoor concrete and keep its texture.
- Step 1 2× HARD Hardening
Outdoor surfaces with a coarser texture
On coarser surfaces, SEAL 3.0 adds sealing after hardening. PROTEC is an add-on where exposure to stains justifies it.
- Step 1 2× HARD Hardening
- Step 2 SEAL 3.0 Sealing and densifying
- if needed PROTEC for stain protection
Garages, workshops and car parks
Hardening and sealing for vehicle traffic, with PROTEC as a liquid-repellent step against oil stains and for easier cleaning.
- Step 1 HARD Hardening
- Step 2 SEAL 3.0 Sealing and densifying
- Step 3 PROTEC Stain protection

Frequently asked questions
Is hardening the same as a coating?
No. Lithurin HARD is an impregnating agent that reacts within the surface layer of the concrete. It forms no film on the surface that could come loose or flake.
Can it be applied to an old floor?
Yes, but the existing concrete must first be ground or thoroughly cleaned back to a sound, absorbent substrate. Surface preparation determines the result.

Show us your floor. We will recommend the right sequence.
On a site visit we check the condition of the concrete, the traffic, how the floor is cleaned and what it is exposed to. Then we propose the surface preparation, the product sequence and a schedule that fits around your operations.
